Harvest celebration at Hållfjället
From 25–27 September, we let Åre’s autumn market continue all the way up the mountain. A weekend where the bustle of the village, local food and craftsmanship give way to the stillness and wide-open landscapes of Hållfjället.
Down in the village, our gardens are at their most generous, and we let the year’s harvest set the tone for the stay. On Friday and Saturday, we serve a five-course harvest dinner centred around what is coming from the ground at that very moment, alongside game, mushrooms, berries and all that we have gathered, preserved and made the most of throughout the year. From the cellar, we bring out personal bottles that we particularly love.
The journey here can be part of the experience too. Walk up from Ottsjö or Edsåsdalen on your own, or let us arrange a day with one of our local guides, who will lead you to beautiful places, share stories of the mountain and the surrounding landscape, and prepare lunch or coffee along the way. For those who wish, there is also the possibility of stopping at one of the mountain lakes to fish for trout and cook lunch over an open fire.
During the autumn market weekend, it is also possible to fly by helicopter directly from Åre village to Hållfjället.
Once here, a wood-fired sauna, a table set for dinner and a long evening on the mountain await. The following morning, we serve breakfast as the mountain wakes outside the windows.
